Fuel For Thought For 2010 Merseyside Innovation Awards Winner

A Merseyside manufacturing company which has developed a device capable of reducing fuel costs by up to 40% and cutting carbon emissions by half has been crowned the winner of the 2010 Merseyside Innovation Awards.

St Helens manufacturing company, Kleen and Green, scooped the award at a ceremony held at Liverpool's Crowne Plaza Hotel last week (8th July), beating off fellow finalists Builder Scrap and Sign Lights.

As a result of winning the award, Kleen and Green received £10,000 in cash, advice worth £4,000 from some of the region's leading business advisors, and the offer of space at Liverpool Science Park.

Each of the runners received £1,000 in cash, and there was a special award, sponsored by the 2010 Year of Health and Wellbeing, which was presented to Speke-based Rotters Community Composting who also received £1,000 in cash.
